Epilogue
It’s only been a year now since I read Busting Loose and began to see my life more clearly. How do I know it’s working? The best answer is, “I don’t.” But a good answer is that historically I’ve gone through emotional peaks and valleys about every 3 months. It’s been a year now since any sort of valley has appeared. It’s not proof, but it’s a good direction to be headed in.
I usually connect with my therapist every week, and for the past six months I’ve been rescheduling the appointments regularly, going a month or two between conversations. When we connected most recently, I told her, “Jenna, it’s not there aren’t problems in my life, but it doesn’t feel like I need to discuss them. Things are going to work out. They always work out.”
Her response was, “Sanjay, every therapist hopes that their client can graduate some day and no longer need therapy. Everything I’ve heard and seen from you over the past year tells me that you’re there. Have a great life, and I’m here if you need me.”
